Polymath Creative Director
As a title, it’s a mouthful. As a self-description, it’s spot on.
I‘m a creative director and copywriter who landed in the world of advertising through a series of happy accidents. At 18 years old, I had big plans to be a captain in the maritime industry. (I have transcripts from the Texas Maritime Academy to prove it.) Luckily, a hard pivot sent me down an entirely different path. Along the way, I ran music festivals, produced freelance content for HGTV, and even had my work shared by Martha Stewart on IG (for real) before joining my first agency as a copywriter. It turns out you actually can make a living doing creative stuff (my dad still isn’t buying it) so despite the lack of a traditional agency pedigree, I’ve been making fun stuff for brands ever since.
A few fun facts on the personal side:
I won my husband over on our second date with my welding skills.
I taught my kid how to ride a dirtbike during COVID lockdown.
I hand-painted a 30-foot mural of a BMW 2002 on the back wall of the auto shop my husband and I own that got a nod of approval from Aaron Draplin.
Between the garden that keeps doubling in size and the small batches of maple syrup we boil each spring, we like to pretend we’re farmers.
